About the Role
Location: Los Angeles, CA Industry: Logistics Shift: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm Compensation: $18.00 - 22.00/HR~ + benefits
Job duties include:
Receive cargo orders from customers
Negotiate with airlines for space and rates
Provide customers with booking information or any other information requested
Familiarize with the products you are handling (IE, required temperature and etc.)
Ensure cargo comes as customer order it, including time, quantity, etc.
Maintain airlines cutoffs and plan accordingly
Accurately make documentation such as AWBs, Phytos and IE/TEs
Trace cargo even after tendering; ensure cargo departs (and check connection flight if
applicable) according to customers request
Immediately report to superior; follow up and present solutions if there are any irregularities
Maintain and complete files, invoice and send out as soon as possible.
Answer phone calls from customers/vendors/offices
Daily contact with US Customs, USDA and other government agencies
Familiarize and adhere to various regulations such as TSA, IATA, AES
Handle customer’s needs, complaints and provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits
Perform safety precautions to keep safe environment
Works as team by supporting beyond your duties as needed
Requirements
Past experience in logistics/export operations is highly preferred
Strong PC and MS office skills
Punctual attendance and reliable individual
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to follow instructions given by superiors while also able to work independently
Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Japanese is a plus!
